What is Lifeline?

The Lifeline program is a federal program administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that helps low-income Americans afford phone and internet services. Established in 1985, Lifeline provides monthly discounts of up to $9.25 on phone or internet service (up to $34.25 for households on Tribal lands).
